Service Description

Make yourself a beautifully-textured oversized leaf and learn the “cracked mud” technique for felting, which will reveal your leaf’s veins and boost its complexity and appeal. Your instructor Megan will guide beginners and more experienced felters through the 4 steps of felting: layout, felting, fulling and finishing. All supplies and materials will be provided and you will have a wide range of colours to design your leaf with. You will need to bring your own bath towel, hand towel, and sharp scissors. In addition, if you have a scrap of light-weight cloth or silk that you would like to incorporate into your design, bring it along, too. Come prepared to let free your laughter, ideas and imagination. Open to adults and older teens. About your instructor: Megan Arundel is a self-taught artist who has exchanged paint for wool as her medium of choice, and wet felting the process in which she highlights the textures and earthy colours of nature. Megan has been teaching felting workshops and short courses for several years and is always thrilled with a class’s collective exchange of learning and creative insights.
