About the Event

In honour of the new CBC TV show, The Great Canadian Pottery Throwdown, we are excited to bring you a local version that is also a fundraiser for the Nanaimo Food Share.

Join us for a fun afternoon where potters will go head-to-head in 5 timed challenges: blindfolded cup, longest handle, hand-built replica, five-minute teapot, and widest bowl. Prepare for triumphs, mistakes and mess.  The best potter in each round wins a prize donated by Plainsman Clay. Each Challenge will begin with a professional demonstration of the skill required.  The competition is open to students and amateurs.

You can either watch the hilarity or join the fray.  $20 for spectators or $30 to compete.

Competitors come 15 min early to sign up for challenges.
