Service Description

Wet felting - not to be confused with dry (needle) felting – is the alchemy of wool, water and agitation in the making of an incredible variety of two- and three-dimensional forms. In this 7-week course, you will complete 5 to 6 works to take home with you. With each class, you will learn a different technique and apply it to make a specific project (examples include a table mat, small bag, decorative flowers, lantern, wall hanging or painting). In one of the weeks, guest instructor Bari Precious will guide us in making a nuno-felted scarf, which involves felting wool and silk fabric together. Finally, you will design and create your project using your favourite techniques. If you have never done wet felting, this class is for you. If you have a little experience—or a lot more—it will give you the guided opportunity to improve your skills, challenge yourself, and expand your creativity. Open to adults and older teens. * Please note: there is no class on September 20 (National Day of Truth and Reconciliation Day and October 14 (Thanksgiving) About your instructor: Megan Arundel is a self-taught artist. She has been a member of the Canadian Federation of Artists, had solo gallery shows and taught watercolour classes. Her work with felting reflects her grounding in the west coast environment, highlighting the textures and earthy colours of this part of the world. Megan has been teaching felting workshops and is always thrilled with the outcomes of the participants, teaching a full course of lessons will be a more intensive and satisfying experience for both herself and the participants.
